Behind the Scenes of The Yoga Entrepreneur Blueprint: The Wild Ride of Business, Life, and Unexpected Lessons
Okay people, here it is—the behind-the-scenes, raw, unfiltered look at the creation of The Yoga Entrepreneur Blueprint. If you've read my blog before, you know my goal is to pull back the curtain on business creation and give you the real, messy, "WTF am I even doing?" moments. Because let’s be honest—figuring out a business while you’re building it is like assembling IKEA furniture without instructions. You will hit roadblocks, you will question your life choices, and you will have at least one existential crisis. And that’s totally normal!
So, where am I today? What am I working on? And what entrepreneurial potholes have I stepped into recently?
Lesson #1: When in Doubt, Outsource!
When I launched The Yoga Entrepreneur Blueprint website (www.theyogaentrepreneurblueprint.com), my grand vision was to document the business-building process in real time while helping fellow yoga professionals navigate their own entrepreneurial paths. What I didn’t have was a solid blueprint (ironic, right?) of what this business would ultimately become. But I knew one thing—if I wanted to create an interactive business-planning course for yoga instructors, I needed HELP.
Enter Freelancer.com, a magical land where you can post projects, get a hundred proposals overnight, and realize that people all over the world are ready to take your money in exchange for their expertise. After what felt like 17 hours of speed-dating freelancers, I found Md Zuman F. (@mdzumanfarhad91), who jumped in to help make this course interactive. The lesson here? If you don’t know how to do something, don’t waste a month trying to figure it out—hire someone who does!
Lesson #2: A Business Without Visuals is Like a Yoga Class Without Music
Once I had the interactive part rolling, I knew I needed animated video elements. Because let’s face it—no one wants to sit through a 10-hour course with nothing but slides and text. That’s how people end up scrolling Instagram instead of learning.
So, back to Freelancer.com I went! After another flurry of proposals, I landed on Muhammad Usama K. (@explainmybrand), who is now bringing my course visuals to life. If you need animations, explainer videos, or anything that moves and looks pretty, I highly recommend checking out his work: Freelancer Profile.
Lesson #3: Be Open to Signs from the Universe
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. I needed a voiceover for the course but, like most people, I hate the sound of my own voice. (Seriously, why do we all sound like aliens when we hear recordings of ourselves?) I tried recording it 102 times before admitting defeat. So, naturally, I went back to Freelancer.com to find a professional.
And then—BAM—the universe stepped in. Out of nowhere, my old yoga instructor Sharon Bridson reached out. She mentioned she’d always wanted to get into voiceover work, and people had told her she had a warm, calming, and welcoming voice. Talk about divine timing! Not only did I find the perfect voice for my course, but I also reconnected with a like-minded entrepreneur in the holistic health space.
A little about Sharon—she’s on an incredible journey to help others with disabilities, weaving together her vast experience in mental health, yoga, and holistic therapies. I first met Sharon when she hosted a yoga retreat at Amee Farm Retreat (Amee Farm Retreat), where she holds space in a jaw-dropping atmosphere for others to experience love, support, and an array of offerings that make you want to move in and stay for life.
I met her at a time when I was completely lost. Despite all the wild situations I’ve put myself in—being a bold entrepreneur and just a bold person in general—I had never felt such despair, deceit, anger, and hopelessness. I lost my father to COPD, fought a horrific legal battle with a narcissistic ex, and watched my once-thriving business slip away. And in the middle of that storm, I found Sharon. Or maybe Sharon found me. Either way, she helped me begin to heal. And now, the universe has brought us full circle—she’s lending her incredible voice and energy to The Yoga Entrepreneur Blueprint. Moral of the story? Stay open to the opportunities that present themselves. Sometimes the answers you need are already in your network—you just have to recognize them.
Lesson #4: Trust the Process (Even When It’s Confusing)
Right now, I’m reviewing the initial slide deck for the animated video. Since it’s still just a bunch of static images, it’s hard to visualize the final product. But in order for the freelancer to move forward, I have to release a milestone payment—essentially taking a leap of faith that the final animation will be what I envisioned. Business is full of these moments where you just have to trust the process, roll with the punches, and adjust as needed. Worst-case scenario? We tweak it and try again. That’s entrepreneurship, folks!

Behind-the-Scenes of Building The Yoga Entrepreneur Blueprint:
#1. Multitasking Level: Expert. 🚀
Starting a new business means doing all the things, all the time. Here I am recording a voiceover on one screen, fine-tuning slides for my interactive "Build Your Yoga Business Plan" module on another, and—because why not—getting in a workout with Tonal. Who needs extra hours in the day when you can just stack your tasks like a pro? 💪😂
(Seriously though, if you haven’t checked out the Tonal workout machine yet, it's a game-changer!)
P.S. Please excuse the disaster zone—my room currently looks like a tornado hit a yoga studio, an office, and a gym all at once. Basically, a perfect reflection of my brain right now! 😅🌀📚💻
~ And yes, I’m fully aware my shirt is on backwards... just rocking that effortlessly disoriented entrepreneur look! 😆👕✨
When two worlds align at just the right moment... ✨
This is how it all began—an unexpected conversation with an old friend who is now the voice of my business, while I get to be a resource for hers. Funny how life works, isn’t it?
It’s a great reminder to stay open and aware. Much like in yoga, when you stop forcing and start flowing, the path reveals itself. What once felt like an impossible, tangled pose (or problem) suddenly clicks into place—effortless, natural, and right in front of you all along. 🧘♀️💫
Somewhere in the chaos, I’m also taking screenshots of my conversation with a freelancer—straight from my phone—then uploading them to a neatly labeled Google Drive folder. (Because trust me, future me will thank present me for staying organized. Organize now, breathe later. 😮💨)
I wanted to share parts of our conversation with you so you can really see what goes on behind the scenes—the breakdowns in communication, the hustle, the collaboration, and the determination to keep moving forward as a team, even when setbacks happen.
But of course, mid-upload, I realize I forgot to blur out the freelancer’s name (privacy and respect), so now it's back to the phone, re-screenshot, quick-edit with the highlight tool set to black, re-upload, and delete the originals. (almost 2 hours later...)
And after all that, I go to upload some photos to Shopify (which is what I'm using here to create these Blog Posts) —only to find that the thumbnail previews are so tiny, they might as well be pixels from 1995. So, naturally, I crank my screen zoom up to 400% just to make out what I’m even looking at. Never a dull moment, right? There’s always some random obstacle to overcome, but that’s the game—business (and life) is all about adapting and figuring things out as you go.
Now, I may have been a little extra here. But in my defense, I’m juggling multiple freelancers, and this one decided to hit me up for more money before even completing my first round of revision requests. If they’re trying this with me, how many others have they upsold without real justification? So yeah, I may have dropped a couple of swear words, but I ultimately kept my composure and found a solution.
When working with others—especially remotely, across different time zones, languages, and cultural norms—you’re going to hit crossroads. Conversations can be frustrating, but the ability to outsource globally is incredibly valuable for so many reasons. I’ll do my best to write about that soon, but for now…
Moral of the Story:
Entrepreneurship is basically one long, unintentional yoga practice—messy, unpredictable, and full of moments where you just want to collapse into child’s pose and call it a day. But here’s the thing: growth happens in the wobbles. Just like holding a balancing pose, the key isn’t perfection—it’s staying with it, breathing through the chaos, and finding creative ways to adjust when things feel impossible.
So when life throws you a WTF is this file format moment, don’t panic. Instead, take a deep breath, stay present, and look for the universe’s little nudges. More often than not, the solution is already right in front of you—you just have to shift your perspective (or, in my case, spin around in my chair, do an aggressive lat pull, and then find it).
Bottom line? Don’t throw in the towel—use it to wipe the sweat off your face and keep going. 🧘♀️😆✨
